How Long Your Parking Lot Stencils Will Last

When our customers are purchasing parking lot stencils from us, many of them ask us how long they can expect the painted stencil to last in their parking lot. The truth is it depends on a lot of factors, but let's take a look at some of them now:

  • The materials you use with your new parking lot stencils. Are you using paint or epoxy? Is your paint oil or latex based? Paint is the more affordable option here, but it won't last as long. Epoxy is much more expensive, but has a much longer lifespan. You'll want to weigh the pros and cons for yourself when deciding whether longevity or cost is more important to you here.
  • Where you are located. Weather will impact the durability of your parking lot stenciling. Extreme temperatures and severe weather will cause your parking lot paint to wear away faster, so if you live in a climate that gets a lot of storms or is super hot, you can expect to be restriping more often.

In general, parking lot marks can last anywhere from 9 months to 3 years. Perform a maintenance check on your parking lot at least every few months and see how the paint is holding up and evaluate whether or not its time to re-mark your pavement. You'll want to make sure you purchase parking lot stencils that can hold up to multiple uses, too, so we'd recommend you purchase some of our heavier duty parking lot stencils for the job.

Place an order with us today and you'll have everything you need to make sure your parking lot lines are clearly marked, increasing the safety of your lot and the happiness of your customers. We'll ship your order to you for free!
